Rather than build institutions of our own from scratch, we collaborate and add value to existing institutions addressing the same community across India. Thereafter, we network and bring in every requirement in kind to take the process forward to its productive end. As of December 2001, we have established and are in the process of establishing 30 AMBA CEEICs in 18 cities/small towns/villages in India. We support these institutions for a period of 2-4 years depending on the individual institution’s capacity and limitation. Working with them towards every aspect of the requirement of setting up, training, customizing, bringing in work; getting the youngsters to adapt to the change, building revenue model. Also helping them negotiate with companies in their vicinity to bring in every requirement in kind, sometimes beyond the basic requirements, like stand-by electricity/water/healthcare/ insurances, setting up a revenue base to support long term sustainability of the
Institution, independent of external funding, etc. We then step back in stages with the hope that these ancillary units continue to empower themselves and other institutions within their network becoming catalyst for change in the process. We would always be there to support the institutions.
Our efforts come with no financial implications.
