The youngsters we address cannot go through formal education. We therefore take them through a visual process of recognising the keys on the keyboard and gradually increase the degree of difficulty of learning till they are able to do effective and accurate data entry using the computer.
While we use Information Technology to achieve our goals, the learning process is primarily a non-computer activity. Interesting play-and-learn methods are employed. Discussions evolve into activity which enables the individual to identify everything independently on the computer. Too much information can be quite disastrous, therefore, we refrain from encouraging a definite curriculum. The process of learning, while it follows a methodology, is specifically customised to meet the limitations and time required for each individual. We have at times taken over 2 years to complete an individual’s learning process to enable him or her to complete a specific job effectively at the AMBA CEEIC.
